We,
Naturists, state that Naturism is a way
of living in harmony with nature, characterised
by being nude among people; that way,
it fosters respect for oneself, the others
and the environment. That is why we also
say it is family oriented.
An association made up mainly of families
and linked to the defence of a beach and
its environment, is undoubtedly a clear
example of what Naturism should always
be. This is the case of the Association
of Friends of the Torn Beach, about which
you’ll find its
history in the words of its president
and founder, Manel Mondéjar, at
this link, since, due to its length,
you will not find it in the paper version
of this magazine.

Manel and Pili have renewed their marriage
of 25 years, surrounded by their two daughters
and closest friends. Those 25 years have also
been dedicated to fighting for the environment
of the Torn Beach. Their personal history is
intertwined with that of the association and
its struggle to survive as a privileged area
in our country.
Manel’s work is not bound only by the
Torn, or the practice of Naturism at its beach,
but he also sat on the board of the Spanish
Naturist Association, and was its president
when he was needed. As a president he contributed
to broaden the horizon of Spanish Naturism,
even abroad, by organising high quality national
and international events.
Everybody knows what the Torn Beach would be
like now without the persistent dedication of
Manel and his association: bricks and cement.
Without their contribution, Naturists would
be mere nudists. We do need more associations
of true friends of beaches and natural environmental
areas. The planet could be saved.
On this occasion and bearing in mind all the
above, we, Naturists, congratulate him, his
family and those who have been at his side through
this adventure which is well worth a life of
dedication to this cause. Congratulations and
best wishes on your silver wedding anniversary.
