More and more mayors are interested in promoting Naturist Tourism in their towns or villages, working together with the Naturist associations and the Spanish Federation.

The mayor of Martín del Río, Teruel, has been providing the village campsite to the ANAR, the Aragón Association, since 2002. During the week-end at about mid June, the village swimming pool, which is in full sight of the neighbouring houses, is at the disposal of the association. Other associations, such as AND, also join for this event.

The former mayor of Barcelona sponsored a leaflet to make it clear that nudism in public places is not forbidden. That had an international echo.

The Town Hall of Badalona, (prov. of Barcelona), also financed the publication providing information about the present legislation concerning Nudism.

The mayoress of Gijón, (Asturias), involved the whole council in the promotion and development of the International Swimming Gala, which took place at the municipal swimming pool. The press briefing was held at the very same Town Hall.

The mayor of Cuevas del Campo, (prov. of Granada), provided a free bus from Madrid to hold the First Meeting at the Negratin Dam between the 21st and 23rd of July 2006. We were offered free camping near the dam, and he organized a presentation of the project at which nudists and locals partook, eating local products and listening to and giving formal speeches, in perfect harmony.

The president of the FEN, mentioned in his speech that “those who used to persecute, now protect us.” He was talking about the government representative and the Civil Guard, present there. The mayor, Frutos, was the first to take his clothes off in front of the the journalists.
