Andrés and Maribel
Andrés Tatay is presently
the president of the Naturist Association of Valencia.
He was born in Valencia, Spain, in 1949 and has
been an active member of the ANVA since 1997.
Q.
How and when did you become aware of Naturism-Nudism?
A. It is funny
when I think of it now. I used to go to
Malvarrosa and Saler beaches, but once I
ended up at Pinedo beach, very close to
Saler. I set up all the equipment (chairs,
umbrella, towel and so on) and then, what
a shock!, I realised everybody around me
was naked. I made up my mind to take off
my swimming trunks and I have not put them
on since then. |

Q.
What has the ANVA achieved recently?
A. Well, probably
to get the swimming pool to open to naturists
on a regular basis, has been the most important
achievement. We have managed to switch it from
being private, (which meant a big expense), to
having a group of members run it, which practically
covers the cost. We have been doing this for the
third year in a row.
Q.
Which are the activities and services that you
offer?
A. We usually organise
trips, special suppers once a month, the naturist
swimming pool, and others, such as massage workshops,
31st of December party and the Carnivals. We,
at the ANVA, have a sauna and a massage room,
which are open from 19:30 to 22:00 h approximately,
every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. We also commemorate
the World Naturist Day, by having a fraternity
meal at Cullera beach.
Q.
Which beaches or other places do you usually go
to?
A. The ANVA members
have a variety of places to choose from. They
can either go to the closest beaches, (Devesa
del Saler, Pinedo, Cullera, Gandía, etc.)
or, if they would rather be in a natural environment,
to the Sierra Natura Naturist Centre. You can
do the above activities in a day’s time,
but we have also gone further to the Fuentepodrida
Spa centre where we have kindly been offered the
opportunity of a special naturist schedule.
